The Nauvoo Historical Society operates two local museums covering 200 years of Nauvoo's rich history with original artifacts representing the periods of Nauvoo's timeline. The Nauvoo Historical Society was formed in 1953 with 86 members.
The Weld House Museum is located in Nauvoo's business district and is one of western Illinois's best examples of Greek revival architecture.
A house built by Mormons in the 1840s, remodeled by Icarians, and later owned by the Rheinberger family serves as the Nauvoo State Park Museum.
